Professional Job Searcher
I'm contemplating ordering business cards with this title under my name.
It's been a while since I've posted and I wish I could say that I'm still gainfully employed, enjoying real money for a change, but alas, no.
The job I was so excited about turned out to be something not so exciting. I was hired b/c of my recruiting experience and my interest and willingness to learn the other aspects of HR. HOWEVER, it turns out that they really needed someone who already HAS that experience and were not willing to help someone learn, as they originally presented themselves. That, and the fact that these people all think that their shit doesn't stink, is why I'm glad I'm not there anymore. I knew it wasn't the place for me and wanted to leave after week 2, however, I couldn't b/c I needed to be eligible for unemployment. So I did the best I could, knowing that it wouldn't be enough for these people, until they finally approached me b/c they knew I wasn't happy. I was frustrated with them and they were frustrated with me. We all sat down and had a heart-to-heart(s) and decided that this situation was not a good match.
So, here I am searching again. And here I am worrying 24/7 about money and feeling even more loserish (yes, I'm aware that's not a word) as I am even closer to 35 with no life plans.
All this aside, I am happy and grateful for every day that I wake up alive. As I've mentioned before (with the Jim Morrison lyric Drew turned me on to) that life is too short to be unhappy for what we don't have. Sometimes it's difficult, but I try to focus on being grateful for having people in my life who love me and that I can show my love to.
