Exit....Stage Left

Today I officially became a divorcee' and I'm not real sure how I feel about that. I am looking forward to starting a new life and not having to worry all the time about someone else and the drama involved. However, I'm kinda sad that a 10-year chapter of my life is now over. I got married FOREVER and sometimes wonder where I went wrong.

Anyway, on to living my new life! One of my favorite lines in Shawshank Redemption is "Get busy livin' or get busy dyin'. " Drew sent me an email today and gave me an awesome Jim Morrison quote which is my new motto:

"No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn"

She'll be coming 'round the mountain......

Wow! Back from my trip and STILL recovering! I had an awesome time--can't even remember the last time I had THAT much fun. I learned to snowboard! I really enjoyed it once I got the hang of it. However, I am now visiting the chiropractor b/c I feel backward down the mountain and sprained my neck! That being said, I can't wait to snowboard again!

It was great to hang out with Steph and Chris for 8 whole days and enjoyed meeting all their CO friends. I believe I met the male version of myself in their friend Drew. In fact, they called me "Drewidia" all week, because the similarities between us were uncanny and downright eerie. It all started when we somehow realized that we both love Family Guy. Then Steph says, oh, I suppose you like SpongeBob too?! And of course, I said Hell Yeah! We're both Scorpios, share many of those traits, love to quote movies and TV, but the kicker was when I quoted "abierto, cerrado" from Sesame Street. Steph looked at me like I had three heads! Apparently, Drew says that ALL the time. He is really cool and I enjoyed hanging out with him.

So, the divorce will be final tomorrow and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'm looking forward to starting a new life (hopefully drama-free) but of course, sad b/c my marriage is over. The thing that really gets me is that NOW my STBX says he doesn't want a divorce. WHAT?! After all we've (well, I've) been through in the past year or so, he is just now realizing that he doesn't want to lose me. This is the part that really makes me sad. If he would have gotten his head out of his ASS months ago and admitted he still wants to be with me, we could have worked things through and possibly had a whole new healthy marriage. But no, the stubborn ass had to be a jackass to try and prove a point. oh, If I could live in a man's head for just one day.....

Nice manners, babe!

I'm leaving tonight for a week in Breckenridge (VERY excited, btw) and when I asked my CO friends "I know this is a dumb question, but do cell phones work in the mountains?" Stephanie gave me the straight answer of sometimes yes, sometimes no, but the reply I got from Chris was:

There are never any dumb questions.... just dumb people asking questions

Nice! Actually that cracks me up, b/c I can just hear him saying that. I sometimes miss my college days where there was nothing to worry about except where I'm going to get beer money for the weekend (hmmm....which book should I sell back to the bookstore?). Oh yeah, and I guess......passing classes and graduating before I'm 50......

Stay tuned for the post-ski-trip review.....

P.S. No...I didn't go to Harvard as shocking as that is.

Moving On

So, I'm moving into my very own bachelorette pad (divorce is in the works) on Sunday and couldn't be more excited. I am practically giddy at the thought of coming home from work and not having to worry about someone's elses mood or having someone question me about where I was and who I was with until 6AM. I won't have to tiptoe around in the morning when I get ready and I can watch WHATEVER I want on TV. Woo Hoo! As Dieter from Sprockets would say, I'm as happy as a little girl!"

My Soon-To-Be-Ex, who moving forward I shall refer to as STBX (stole that from some other blog, but can't remember where to give props to the peeps), does not seem to be very pleased about this divorce moving along. I have a hard time understanding that since HE was the one who wanted it in the first place!!! He is now getting what he's said he wanted 500 times in the past year, and suddenly seems like he doesn't want it. My theory is that he can't stand seeing me go back to being the strong individual I was when we first met over 10 years ago. I now hold the power and he can't stand it. Well, too bad...so sad...buh bye!

Helloooooooooo!

Well, I finally broke down and I think I might start blogging. Wait a minute....It looks as though I already have! :-)

I decided to give this a whirl after learning that a few of my favorite co-workers are doing it. I enjoy reading theirs, as well as some others I was turned on to by one of said co-workers.

I've gone through alot in my personal life in the past year or so and probably have ALOT to write about, but.....

Baby steps, my friend. Baby steps.....
