I Got It!!!
Starting tomorrow, I will officially be back in the "real" working world. No more contract recruiting jobs, no more paying COBRA (well, one more month 'til I'm eligible for benefits at the new job), no more writing credit card checks to pay bills. I cannot be more excited!

The Waiting Game
So, I'm unemployed again as of April 29th. My contract gig at the "Fortune 500 prescription benefit management company" ended because things got too slow. I basically recruited myself right out of a job b/c I filled all the positions I was responsible for, as well as Plan B and Plan C people for each of those positions.
I have been interviewing and getting SO close to getting jobs that I'm becoming increasingly frustrated every day. I'm in that situation again, where I had a 2nd interview at a company today and am waiting to hear about the outcome. They even started checking my references! They want to make a final decision by Friday, so I expect that my phone will ring sometime tomorrow and I know I will be both terrified and excited to answer it. Excited at the possibility I will be offered the position, but terrified that it will the opposite and I'll be told once again; "You really were a very strong candidate, however, we selected someone else that had more experience with [insert here whatever experience I'm missing.]"
If it's the latter, I'm not sure how I will be able to handle the rejection AGAIN. All this interviewing is getting really old, not to mention at 34 yrs. of age having my mommy pay for my health insurance premium and me writing the occasional credit card check to pay the rent, car payment, etc. It makes me feel like a complete loser and I can't stand that.
My top five list of things that suck right now:
1. Interviewing. Especially being a recruiter and being used to asking the questions instead of being asked them.
2. Not having enough money to even pay my bills.
3. Not seeing my dog.
4. Seeing my ex. Seeing him is fine, but sharing my friends with him is what sucks.
5. A lack of cell phone service in my apartment. I can't even begin to describe how annoying this is!
Bottom line: My work/money situation needs to take a serious turn for the better and SOON. I'm hoping that today's horoscope rings true........"It's one of those days when the stars align, and things fall into place. Lucky you!"
