It's the little things....

I've always believed it's the little things that matter most in life. A beautiful day, a "smiling" dog, an email/phone call from a friend, etc. Not to mention Spongebob Squarepants checks!!

Decided to use my free time wisely to take the prep course for the PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification exam. I've been considering doing it for years, but couldn't force myself to take the course which was 3 hours, once-a-week for 10 weeks. It turns out though, that they now have a 4 full day course, which is 4 Fridays in a row from 8:30am-4:30pm, so I'm in! Starts tomorrow!

Hi......remember me?

Alot has happened since April 15th and I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up with my blogging. I kept myself busy planning my "retirement," which ended up FINALLY happening on June 3rd. It's amazing how happy one can be getting fired from their job. I NEVER saw myself as the "type" to have no remorse or regrets losing a job, but when your job sucks THAT bad, viewpoints change. I do miss my friends from my old job, but DEFINITELY not the job itself.

I have been thoroughly enjoying my summer of unemployment--sleeping in (my favorite part), working out everyday, going to the racetrack, concerts, Cubs games, etc. I've also been enjoying spending alot of time with Lamby. The people who would read my blog know the story behind the name, but just in case you've been under a rock, here's the scoop. Lamby (not his real name) is the guy I started dating sometime in March and has been since promoted to "my boyfriend." He is 26 (I'm 33) and therefore is considered "veal." (Veal = under 30yrs old) Somehow this morphed into him being called Lambchop and eventually into Lamby. I think it's cute and I don't think he is really offended by it, although I don't call him that on a regular basis. Usually it's just around the people who know him by that.
